Legislator Bosworth Attends Meeting of the Organization of Chinese Americans, LI Chapter

Nassau County Legislator Judi Bosworth (D-Great Neck) attended the quarterly meeting of the Organization of Chinese Americans, Long Island Chapter on Friday, September 10th at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hyde Park. The members of OCA-LI work tirelessly to advocate for and bring services to the Asian American community on Long Island. It was a fun and interesting evening during which there was a screening of “Transcending-The Wat Misaka Story,” a documentary about a 5’7” Japanese American who was drafted by the New York Knicks in 1947 during a time of racial hostility. The group also honored Christine Toy Johnson and Bruce Johnson, the producers of this documentary. Legislator Bosworth is pictured with OCA-LI President Ann Elizabeth Chan; Mary Chu; OCA-LI CEO and former Mayor of Plandome Heights, Gene Woo and his wife, Janis; OCA-LI Treasurer Joe Chu; OCA-LI honorees Bruce Alan Johnson and Christine Toy Johnson; NY State Senator Craig Johnson; and members of the OCA-Li Board.
