Legislator Bosworth Encourages You to Become a CERT Member
Training Classes in Great Neck this July and August
Nassau County Legislator Judi Bosworth (D-Great Neck) encourages her constituents in the 10th Legislative District to consider becoming a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). The CERT program educates and trains Nassau County residents in basic disaster response and recovery skills. When an emergency or disaster happens, CERT members can give critical support to first-line responders and provide immediate assistance to their community.
The training to become a CERT member includes fire safety procedures; disaster medical operations; light search and rescue techniques; team organization skills; and disaster psychology. The 8 basic training classes are free and will be held on the following schedule: July 11, 18, 25, August 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 from 7-10 p.m. on each day. The classes are at 30 Cumberland Avenue in Great Neck.
