Wayne Wink sworn in as Nassau County Legislator for the 11th District in front of fellow lawmakers, friends and family

Nassau County Legislator Wayne Wink (D-Roslyn) was recently sworn into office by County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi in front of fellow legislators, lawmakers, friends and family. Wink was elected in a special election March 27, 2007 to fill the seat vacated by State Senator Craig Johnson.

“I look forward to working with my fellow legislators and continuing the work done by my good friend Craig Johnson,” Wink said. “I am honored that the voters in the 11th District have placed their trust in me, and I am ready to represent their interests in the Legislature.”

Wink brings years of governmental experience to the office, having served two terms as a North Hempstead Town Councilman. Before that, he spent several years as legislative aide to 11th District Legislator Barbara Johnson. He also served as Deputy Counsel to the Legislature’s Democrats.

Wink will serve as chairman of the Towns, Villages & Cities committee, as well as serve on the Finance, Public Works, Public Safety, Government Services, and Economic & Community Development and Labor committees.

The 11th District includes the areas of Albertson, Baxter Estates, East Hills, Flower Hill, Garden City Park, Glenwood Landing, Herricks, Manorhaven, Plandome Manor, Port Washington, Port Washington North, Roslyn, Roslyn Estates, Roslyn Harbor, Roslyn Heights, and Searingtown.
