Legislator Wink Hosts Hurricane Preparedness Meeting
Nassau County Legislator Wayne Wink (D-Roslyn) hosted an Emergency Preparedness Seminar at the Shelter Rock Library. Representatives from Nassau County’s Office of Emergency Management, along with the American Red Cross, CERT, the Albertson Fire Department and Pet Safe Coalition attended. They provided information on how we can best protect ourselves, our families, friends, and pets in the event of a hurricane. They were also available to answer questions from residents.
“I was happy to provide this important service to the community,” Legislator Wink said. “Having a plan in place, and understanding how to protect yourself, and your family is vital. The experts that I invited shared a great deal of information, and offered a variety of suggestions to keep residents safe and prepared in case of a hurricane. I believe it’s always wise to be ready ahead of time.”
