Presiding Officer Schmitt Serves as Guest Speaker at Kiwanis Club of Massapequa

Presiding Officer Peter J. Schmitt recently served as the guest speaker at the Kiwanis Club of Massapequa.  Presiding Officer Schmitt spoke to the club about the state of Nassau County, the move to fix the broken property tax assessment system, the attempts to jumpstart the redevelopment of the Hub area, which includes the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, and the ongoing efforts to close an inherited $287 million dollar budget shortfall.  “This budget gap will be closed without raising taxes.” said Schmitt.
