February 5, 2001 LEGISLATOR MANGANO MEASURE PROVIDING
TAX EXEMPTION FOR DISABLED IS APPROVED County Legislator Edward Mangano (R-Bethpage) voted in support of local legislation expanding the real property tax exemption for disabled residents. Legislator Mangano was a co-sponsor of the legislation. "I was pleased to be able to co-sponsor and support this important legislation," said Legislator Mangano. "This local legislation expands the real property tax exemption for disabled persons to the maximum amount permissible under State law." The legislation allows certain Nassau County residents to remain eligible for this program despite the small increases they may have received in disability payments or social security.
