Farmers Market Nutrition Program runs until November 15th Mineola, NY --Nassau County Legislator Diane Yatauro (D-Glen Cove) wants to remind residents that the New York State Farmers Market Nutrition Program is currently operating in Nassau County and will continue until November 15, 2004. The program is designed to provide fresh fruits and vegetables for low-income seniors who are at nutritional risk while at same time expanding the awareness and use of farmers markets. “A variety of fresh fruits, vegetable and herbs will be available to all low income seniors, right here in Locust Valley,” said Legislator Yatauro. “Eating nutritional and well-balanced meals plays an important role in continuing to live a healthy and active lifestyle, which is why seniors should take advantage of this program right away.” To qualify for eligibility seniors must be;
