Legislator Denenberg Secures $12,000 for North Bellmore FD Purchase of Mobile Data Terminals
Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick) has secured $12,000 in an intermunicipal agreement with the North Bellmore Fire District for five mobile data terminals. The devices will be installed in the fire department’s cars. It will enable first responders to have all the critical data needed at any commercial or residential property to find the locations of hazardous materials, assist invalids, etc. The devices also provide data regarding hydrant sizes and water pressures and have a GPS to help the dispatcher and fire chiefs know who is responding and their location.
“Keeping residents safe is my first priority,” Legislator Denenberg said. “The cutting-edge technology in mobile data terminals will provide up to the minute communication between first responders and hospitals benefiting those that need to be taken to the hospital by helping them receive care quickly and efficiently upon arrival.”
