Legislator Denenberg Surveys $5.7 Million Capital Improvement to Wantagh Park Marina

On a particularly cold, snowy last day of 2008, Legislator Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick) personally inspected the progress of the work that will completely replace the bulk head at Wantagh Park Marina. This undertaking is part of a $5.7 million Nassau County capital improvement at the park and Legislator Denenberg is pleased to announce the work is moving at a pace that ensures the coming recreational boating season will not be interrupted.

Legislator Denenberg said, “It may be winter but the County project to completely replace the bulk- head in Wantagh Park Marina is well underway. This capital project also includes the installation of lighting, a pathway around the bulkhead, and the extension of the dock. We put an aggressive work schedule in place to make sure our families—boaters, park goers, sightseers and passersby—are able to enjoy Wantagh Park beginning this spring. The park is a gem and provides low-cost family-oriented recreational activities.”
