County Legislator Honors Merrick Business Owner for Women’s History Month

Legis. David Denenberg was proud to recognize Tamie Kranis as the 19th District’s ‘Trailblazer’ for 2012

Nassau County Legislator David Denenberg (D-Merrick) honored Tamie Kranis, the owner of Creative Business Alternatives in Merrick, as part of Women’s History Month. The 14th Annual Trailblazers Awards Ceremony was held at the Legislative Chamber in Mineola on Monday, March 19, 2012.

Kranis is a Certified Public Accountant since 1992, and specializes in helping businesses thrive through her knowledge of Accounting and Entrepreneurship. Additionally, she supports numerous youth sports leagues, has taken on various school volunteer positions, served as a Girl Scout Troop leader and is currently a board member of Temple Beth Am of Merrick.

In 2011, she ran and finished the New York City Marathon in memory of her husband, who lost a courageous battle with a sheared aorta and was paralyzed from the chest down. Kranis raised nearly $10,000 for the Alan T. Brown Foundation to Cure Paralysis.
