What services does SAC provide?
The Substance Alternative Clinic (SAC) provides a comprehensive
treatment program for persons addicted to heroin or
other opioids. Methadone medication is provided
along with individual and group counseling, comprehensive
medical and nursing care, psychiatric evaluation and
treatment, psychological assessments, vocational and
rehabilitation counseling, social service assistance,
HIV/AIDS testing and education. The program strives
not only to be an effective medical treatment for heroin
or opioid addiction, but also to improve a client’s
health, family relationships, self-esteem, and ability
to engage in gainful employment or education.
What makes me eligible for Methadone
Treatment?
To be eligible for Methadone Maintenance Treatment,
your addiction history must be consistent with
a minimum of one year heroin or opioid addiction. You
will be asked to verify this history with proof
and/or documentation of past treatment.

How much will I have to pay?
The clinic accepts Medicaid and private
insurances. Fees
are determined on a sliding scale basis that takes into
