About Teens About Elderly For Professionals document links are PDFs

Nassau SPEAKS Out is a campaign to prevent suicide through education and increasing awareness of the risks and warning signs of suicide. We recognize that suicide is a public health issue. Through this effort we are providing information and resource materials to the community at large. Our campaign promotes the importance of eliminating the stigma associated with depression and thoughts of suicide.

Suicide is Preventable
There is Hope, There is Help

Dispel the myths: Talking openly about suicidal thoughts and feelings can save a life. People who are thinking about suicide just want their pain to stop. They are extremely conflicted about ending their own life.

Recognize the warning signs: If you or someone you know is depressed or thinking/talking about suicide then reach out for help:

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-TALK (8255)
Mental Health Association of Nassau County
516-504-HELP (4357)
