The New York State Emergency Management Office (SEMO) is pleased to announce the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Fiscal Year 2010 Unified Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) Program.  The Unified HMA Program consolidates the deadlines and many of the procedures for four FEMA mitigation grant programs:

  • the Flood Mitigation Assistance Program (FMA)
  • the Repetitive Flood Claims Program (RFC)
  • the Severe Repetitive Loss Program (SRL).

These grants can be used for a variety of planning and project grants, and you are encouraged to review your existing hazard mitigation planning documents to identify potential projects.  The following documents are posted for your consideration:

Please note that 5:00 pm on Monday, August 17, 2009 is the deadline for faxing LOIs to SEMO at 518-322-4983.

Should you have any questions or need further information regarding this program, please call SEMO Mitigation directly at (518) 292-2370.
