Helen Marie Carlson joined OLBR in May 2001 as a Legislative Budget Analyst and has over 13 years of financial analysis experience. Ms. Carlson is responsible for overseeing staffing, salary and fringe benefit expense projections. Ms. Carlson also reviews budgets of the departments of Health, Youth Board, Senior Citizens and the District Attorney. Before coming to Nassau she worked as a Financial Analyst at Good Samaritan Hospital of Catholic Health Services. Prior to the hospital, Ms. Carlson worked as a Junior Financial Analyst in New York City for the Associated Merchandising Corporation.
Ms. Carlson has received her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Long Island University at CW Post and her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
