Elisa DiStefano of News12 to Host Finals of
"Reach for the Stars Teen Talent Search" at Lakeside Theatre, on August 11

News12 Long Island morning personality Elisa DiStefano will host the finals of the "Reach for the Stars Teen Talent Search" on Saturday, August 11, at Eisenhower Park’s Lakeside Theatre, announced Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi. The rain date is August 15.

DiStefano can be seen every morning on News12 helping Long Islanders navigate the roadways and also provides information about local events and destinations through her “What to Do on Long Island” features.

Twenty-three Nassau County teenage vocalists will compete as finalists on August 11, with the free program beginning at 7:30 p.m. A prestigious panel of judges will preside, including former "Reach for the Stars" winner and local American Idol notable Kevin Covais. The panel includes professionals in the music industry and music educators from the Long Island area.

The Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre is located near parking fields 6 and 6A in Eisenhower Park. Special accommodations are available for disabled patrons, including reserved parking, easily accessible restrooms, and a convenient reserved location on the hill. Assistive hearing devices are available for the hearing impaired. There is no formal seating at Lakeside Theater, so concert-goers are urged to bring folding chairs. Eisenhower Park, operated by the Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation and Museums, is located in East Meadow, with entrances on Hempstead Turnpike and Merrick Avenue.
