Eisenhower Park Hosts Aquafina "Pitch, Hit & Run" Competition on April 27

The Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation and Museums will host the Aquafina “Pitch, Hit & Run Competition” on Sunday, April 27, at Eisenhower Park on Softball Field “D” near Parking Field No. 4. Registration for the competition begins at 10:30 a.m. that day, with the competition itself starting at noon, and participation is free for boys and girls ages 7 through 14.

The competition is designed to encourage youth participation in sports and emphasize the joy of baseball, with registrants taking part in the three aspects of the game: pitching, hitting and running. The competition is done on a co-ed basis in four separate age groups: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14. Age is determined as of July 17, 2008.

The Eisenhower Park event is one of four levels of competition that culminates in a National Finals at the Major League Baseball All Star game at Yankee Stadium in July.
