Eisenhower Park Mini-Golf and Batting Cage Shift to Fall Hours

NOTE: The mini-golf course and batting cage closed for the season on November 17, 2008.

The miniature-golf course and batting cage at Eisenhower Park began new fall hours following the Labor Day weekend, announced Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi.

Both attractions, located side by side near Parking Field No. 4, will remain open seven days a week but operate on shorter hours as follows: Monday through Thursday, 10:30 am - 4 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.; and Sunday, 10:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. The facilities close for the winter around Thanksgiving.

The mini-golf facility, one of Nassau County’s most popular mini-golf courses and named “Best of Long Island” by News 12 Long Island, features two 18-hole courses ("Mountainside" and "Overlook") with terraced landscaping that incorporates a waterfall, small ponds, flower beds and a number of challenging holes.

The course is wheelchair and baby-stroller accessible and includes two gazebos with picnic tables that are available for children’s parties. Fees are $7 for adults and $4 for children and seniors for one 18-hole round. The batting cage includes nine individual stalls for softball or baseball, with baseball speeds ranging from 40-45 mph, 60-65 mph and 80-85 mph. The fee for the cage is $3 for 25 pitches. The jewel of Nassau County’s park system and centrally located in East Meadow off Merrick Avenue, Eisenhower provides 930 acres of activities. After playing mini-golf or using the batting cage, visitors can take a swim at the world-class Nassau County Aquatic Center, head over to the large playground near Hempstead Turnpike, take a stab at the new 2-mile fitness trail, and enjoy all of the other activities the park has to offer.
