Nickerson Beach Park Hosts "Family Fun Pumpkin Patch"
Nickerson Beach Park, the only County-run park located on the Atlantic Ocean, is hosting a “Family Fun Pumpkin Patch” program during October on weekends and holidays, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., announced Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi.
The program, run by park concessionaire Party Magic Enterprises, includes a children’s pumpkin patch and straw maze; inflatable rides and attractions; pumpkin- and face-painting; crafts, food and entertainment; and a costume parade, among other activities. For more information about this event, call 516-889-7281.
A 121-acre park, Nickerson Beach is located on Lido Boulevard in the village of Lido. The park, which has enjoyed an extensive renovation in recent years, offers a three-quarter-mile-long shoreline, cabanas, a campground, pools, athletic fields and beach volleyball courts, a dog run, a “Nathan’s at Nickerson” concession, and the popular “Fun Zone.” Constructed four years ago as a seamless family-focused recreational site, the Fun Zone incorporates a skate park, colorful basketball courts with fiberglass backboards, and a state-of-the-art playground with special attractions such as climbing apparatus and puzzles.
Following the summer season, parking at Nickerson Beach is free. For more information about Nickerson Beach, call 516-571-7700.
