Glass Houses Presents Tribute to the Music of Billy Joel at Lakeside Theatre on July 14
The music of Long Island pop star Billy Joel will be performed by the 10-piece band Glass Houses, featuring Henry Haid on piano, on July 14 at 7:30 p.m., announced Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi. Haid was a performer in the popular Broadway show based on the music of Joel, "Movin' Out."
The concert will cover Joel's music over the course of his long career, including such pop classics as "Piano Man," "You May Be Right" and "Only the Good Die Young."
A Long Island group, Tauk, will open the show. Made up of an eclectic mix of local musicians who met in high school, Tauk has performed throughout the metropolitan area.
The Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre is located near Parking Fields 6 and 6A in Eisenhower Park. Special accommodations are available for disabled patrons, including reserved parking, easily accessible restrooms and a convenient reserved location on the hill. Assitive hearing devices are available for the hearing impaired. Since there is no formal seating at Lakeside, concert-goers are urged to bring folding chairs or blankets.
