Medical and Special Transportation
ABLE-RIDE/PARATRANSIT PROGRAM
This program is a curb-to-curb transportation service provided by the MTA Long Island Bus for those individuals who are unable to utilize the County's Mass Transit System due to physical, visual or cognitive disabilities. To become enrolled a person must be certified and meet eligibility criteria determined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Reservations and advance notice are required. There is a modest fee. Free transportation to shopping, social and non-Medicaid health services, recreation, and nutrition centers is available to low income elderly residents of Port Washington.

FISH (FRIENDS IN SERVICE TO HUMANITY)
Fish of Wantagh, Inc. utilizes volunteers to provide door–to-door transportation to residents of Wantagh, North Wantagh, Bellmore and North Bellmore. Priority is given to medical transportation needs. Partial funding is provided by the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs.
