Volunteer Programs

FOSTER GRANDPARENT PROGRAM

Income-eligible senior citizens 60 years and older serve as Foster Grandparents to children with special needs in hospitals, schools, day care centers, group homes, recreation and tutorial programs. Volunteers receive a nontaxable stipend, assistance with transportation and lunch, and an annual physical examination. To apply, contact:

RSVP-RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Men and women, 55 years of age and over, can make a meaningful contribution by volunteering their services on a regular basis. Community agencies benefit and volunteers derive great personal satisfaction. The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program-RSVP-recruits and arranges for training and placement in volunteer assignments in non-profit agencies throughout Nassau County. For information, contact:

SCORE-SERVICE CORPS OF RETIRED EXECUTIVES

Retired business executives provide free consultation on financial, marketing and managerial problems for new or existing businesses. Hours: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
