If you Plead Not-Guilty, and received a conference notice and wish to reschedule the date you may call (516-572-2700) or write to the agency requesting a new date. To change the date for a trial, you, or an authorized representative, must appear AT LEAST SEVEN (7) DAYS BEFORE the trial date. Your representative will need a notarized statement addressed to the Clerk of the Court explaining why you cannot appear on that date. This statement will be presented to the Judicial Hearing Officer for review and, if accepted, the case will be adjourned. Your failure to appear for a scheduled trial may result in a default conviction.
