Equipment Violation

If your Violation Code is a 375, 376 or a 381 Equipment Violation:

If the violation is repaired within 24 hours you can either submit an authorized repair shop’s proof of repair (receipt) or you can repair the vehicle privately. If privately repaired, you must complete a proof-of-repair form (PDCN –68) available from any Nassau County Precinct or by using the link on the Nassau County website. Mail the PDCN-68 along with the signed ticket (Part B) and the authorized repair shop’s proof or repair or the proof of purchase for the part, to Nassau County Traffic and parking Violations Agency.

A $30 Driver’s Responsibility Fee is required for each dismissal request.  If your ticket(s) has(have) been sent to collection a $2 collection fee per ticket must be included.

If you do not repair the vehicle within 24 hours and wish to plead guilty, sign Part A, attach your payment of $138 ($130 if ticket issued prior to July 26, 2013) and mail to:
   Nassau County Traffic and Parking Violations Agency
   16 Cooper Street
   Hempstead, NY 11550-4063.

To plead not guilty, complete Part B including your current address and telephone number on the reverse side of the traffic ticket. Sign your name and mail the ticket to the Nassau County Traffic and Parking Violations Agency 16 Cooper Street, Hempstead, NY 11550-4063. All documents must be returned on or before the return date on the ticket. You will receive a conference notice for a date and time to appear. (Please note: a conference is a meeting between a traffic prosecutor and you or your authorized representative, to discuss your options).
