Office of Unclaimed Funds May Be Holding Money for You
For your protection NY State law requires banks,insurance companies, utilities, investment companies and many other businesses to surrender inactive accounts to the State. These accounts are known as lost, abandoned or unclaimed funds.
The State Comptroller's Office of Unclaimed Funds (OUF) is the custodian of these funds and Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli is committed to returning them to their rightful owners.
