Dear Mr. Patrick H.,

Thank you for taking time to write to my office. As the new Comptroller I appreciate and look forward to comments and ideas from constituents.

As Comptroller I will execute my responsibilities diligently and aggressively to ensure that every tax dollar is well spent. The situation with the Special Districts is one of the many topics that my office will focus on. We just completed a second audit of the Oceanside Sanitation District.

My highest priorities will be to streamline government and to help fix the Tax Assessment System. Last week my office issued audit letters to the Tax Assessor's Office, the Information Technology Department, the Department of Social Services and the Nassau Health Care Corporation. We feel that there are millions of dollars in these areas that can be saved.
