Weitzman Named Man of the Year by Nassau Community College Adjunct Faculty Association
Comptroller to be honored at May 24 Luncheon at the Chateau Briand in Carle Place
Nassau County Comptroller Howard Weitzman has been named Nassau Community College Adjunct Faculty Association’s Man of the Year for 2008. The Comptroller will be honored at the AFA Spring Conference on May 24 at 11:30 a.m. at the Chateau Briand in Carle Place.
“It is an honor to be recognized by the college’s adjunct faculty and for such an esteemed and respected group of professionals to recognize the work that I do for Nassau County,” Comptroller Weitzman said.
“The AFA is honored to award Howard Weitzman as Man of the Year due to his exemplary performance as Comptroller of Nassau,” said Charles Loiacono, President of the Adjunct Faculty Association at Nassau Community College.
The AFA Executive Board considered Comptroller Weitzman’s work on a variety of issues during his two terms.
Initiatives like the NassauRx card, a discount drug program for residents and the Comptroller’s numerous audits of special districts which uncovered millions of dollars in waste and abuse, and his support of the Adjunct Faculty Association are just a few of the reasons that the board supported Weitzman as its “Man of the Year.” |
