Introduced by Nassau County Comptroller Howard Weitzman in 2004, the NassauRx card is free. Use the NassauRx card if you do not have drug medication insurance to get discounts on full retail prices for prescription drugs. Since the program began, NassauRx cardholders have saved an average of 24% off of most retail prescription medications and up to 50% on generic drug medications.
Who is most likely to benefit from the NassauRx card?
-Anyone who does not have prescription drug health benefit insurance
-Seniors who are in the "doughnut hole" of Medicare Part D
-Young adults who are not covered on their parents' insurance and lack their own insurance
-Families without insurance who are not eligible for Medicaid
The NassauRx card is available to all Nassau County residents and is accepted at more than 90% of the pharmacies located in Nassau County. And… there are no enrollment forms or fees.
