“The Dark Knight” Lands at the Cradle of Aviation’s

IMAX Theater

“The Dark Knight: The IMAX Experience” Opens at Long Island’s Only IMAX Theater

Garden City, N.Y - The follow-up to the action hit “Batman Begins”, “The Dark Knight” reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in his continuing war on crime.

“The Dark Knight: The IMAX Experience” will feature six sequences filmed with IMAX cameras (including the opening six minutes). This marks the first time ever that a major feature film has been even partially shot using IMAX cameras, making a revolutionary integration of the two film formats.

In addition, theatergoers will be able to see the original Batmobile, created by George Barris Productions in the museum’s atrium during the opening weekend of July 18, 19 and 20. Produced for the popular television series in the 1960’s, the Batmobile became an iconic symbol for the Batman franchise.

“The Dark Knight” becomes the ninth feature length IMAX film to be shown at the Cradle of Aviation Museum and has already started breaking records with advance sales eclipsing those of Harry Potter last summer.
