EMERGENCY SERVICES            516-572-3143

The Department maintains an emergency services program that operates from 6:00pm to 8:00am weekdays.  This service is available continuously on weekends and holidays.

The program offers the following services:

  referrals to emergency temporary housing

  medical transportation in limited circumstances

  referrals for suspected child abuse

  emergency fuel referrals

  referrals to appropriate community agencies, if warranted

  domestic violence intervention and referrals

Several of these program components do have income eligibility guidelines.
