Employment Opportunities

The Nassau County Department of Social Services offers challenging positions with opportunities for professional growth to those who are seeking a career in the social services field.  Full-time positions provide starting salaries with annual salary increases, as well as excellent fringe benefits including health, dental and optical insurance.  Part-time positions providing an hourly salary may also be available. Recruitment for positions is done in accordance with Civil Service Law.  Jobs are typically filled using a list of eligible candidates meeting minimum qualifications of training and/or experience, who have passed a Civil Service Examination for a specific title.  As they become available, exam announcements for the Department of Social Services positions are posted in various locations, including:
