EMERGENCY SERVICES

EMERGENCY SERVICES   516-573-8626

The Department maintains an emergency services program that operates from 6:00pm to 8:00am weekdays, and continuously on weekends and holidays.

The program offers the following services:

  • referrals to emergency temporary housing
  • medical transportation in limited circumstances
  • referrals for suspected child abuse
  • emergency fuel referrals
  • referrals to appropriate community agencies, if warranted
  • domestic violence intervention and referrals

Several of these program components do have income eligibility guidelines.
