NASSAU COUNTY SOCIAL SERVICES IN COLLABORATION WITH NASSAU
HEALTH CARE CORPORATION ANNOUNCES
THE FIRST DOCUMENT DROP-OFF CENTER IN WESTBURY
County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi announced today that the Department of Social Services will be opening a document drop-off out station at the Westbury New Cassel Health Center located at 682 Union Avenue, Westbury, NY on April 6, 2009, for document drop-off only. “The down turn in the economy has impacted residents of Nassau County,” said County Executive Suozzi. “More people are finding themselves in need of services, which have contributed to the increase in the number of visitors coming to the Health and Human Services located at 60 Charles Lindbergh Boulevard, Uniondale, NY. Creating a document drop-off out station in the Westbury New Cassel community gives people the option of going to a nearby office in order to drop off documents which saves them time and reduces travel to Uniondale.”
Documents can be brought to the Westbury New Cassel Health Center Mondays to Fridays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Experienced Social Services staff will be on-site to accept documents, answer general questions, and hand out applications for assistance.
“We are very appreciative to the Nassau Health Care Corporation for partnering with Social Services in creating this first document drop-off out station in Westbury,” said Social Services Commissioner John E. Imhof. He added, “clients who live in the area and in nearby communities can bring their documentation to this location and their papers will be processed the same as if they were coming to Uniondale. We expect this to be a success and have already begun planning more document drop-off sites in other Nassau County communities.”
"We are delighted to assist the Nassau County Department of Social Services, in providing an additional site for Nassau's most needy residents to be able to drop off their documents, at a more convenient location in Westbury/New Cassel, a benefit for those who previously would have to travel a longer distance to Uniondale," said Arthur A. Gianelli, President/CEO of the Nassau Health Care Corporation.
