Beaches Open

Due to heavy rainfall, the Nassau County Department of Health has closed the following 10 north shore beaches as a precautionary measure, effective today, August 8, 2008.

Centre Island Sound
Creek Club
Laurel Hollow Beach
Piping Rock Beach Club
Ransom Beach
Roosevelt Beach
Soundside Beach
Stehli Beach
West Harbor Beach

Storm water runoff can have a negative impact by elevating bacteria levels that are used to assess bathing water quality.
