The Challenges of Parenting a Premature Infant:

Nassau County Department of Health and New York Premature Infant Health Network Seeking Parents of Preemies

The Premature Infant Health Network, an initiative of the Association of Perinatal Networks of New York, is collaborating with the Nassau County Department of Health’s Perinatal Services Network in their effort to better understand the challenges premature infants and their caregivers encounter once leaving the care of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). 

Together with community and health organizations, faith-based groups, healthcare providers, and parents, the Premature Infant Health Network will hold a roundtable meeting in Nassau County on July 27 to hear from those that experience firsthand the many unique challenges premature infants face once they leave the hospital and care begins at home. The information will be used in efforts to increase quality healthcare access and awareness around premature infant issues in New York State.
