Community Health Forum to be Held
Town of Hempstead Residents Invited To Discuss Public Health Issues

The Nassau County Departments of Health, Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol will conduct a Community Health Forum for all of the Town of Hempstead residents at the Freeport Recreation Center, 130 East Merrick Road, Freeport, on Tuesday, June 8th, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

At this meeting, residents will discuss public health issues they feel are important to them and to share their concerns and the needs of their community.

The two-hour meeting will include time for smaller groups to meet so that residents will be able to talk at greater length about specific health priorities and learn what resources are already in place.

At the end of the meeting, we hope to have a better understanding of what each community believes are its crucial public health issues.

The Commissioners from the Departments of Health, Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol will be available, as will representatives from the Nassau County Administration and Legislature.

This meeting is one of six to be held across Nassau County. A second meeting will be held later in the year in the Town of Hempstead, as well as additional meetings in North Hempstead and Oyster Bay as well as the City of Glen Cove. A meeting in Long Beach has already been held.

We encourage all residents to attend these free forums. Refreshments will be available.

For additional information, residents may call the Nassau County Department of Health weekdays from 9:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. at 571- 2500.
