Hempstead High School Students “Dream Big”

On Aug. 27, Nassau County Legislator Roger Corbin (D-Westbury) joined Hempstead High School students to “Dream Big 2009” for

the new school year. Members of the entire community came to support the students during this motivational back to school rally.

Legislator Corbin is no stranger to the students of Hempstead High School. He speaks to them on a regular basis regarding the

importance of getting an education, staying healthy and that drugs and violence are not on the road to success. “Dream Big 2009” included

special appearances by the Nubian Gents, Gospel Rapper C.H.R.I.S., and Julius Petty. A reception followed the rally during which knapsacks

filled with school supplies were distributed to students. “Dream Big 2009” was sponsored by HIP Health Insurance Plan of New York;

Emblem Health Company and the Education Department of Miracle Christian Center in Hempstead.
