Legislator Corbin Attends Renaming of School To Barack Obama Elementary School
Nassau County Legislator Roger Corbin (D-Westbury) attended the re-naming of the Ludlum School in Hempstead to Barack Obama Elementary School, the first school in the nation to change their name to honor our new President. He spoke to the children congratulating them on their success in having the school’s name changed and presented Barack Obama Elementary School with a County Citation.
“I always tell children that they can make a difference and the efforts they put forth to have the school renamed are an excellent example of that,” said Legislator Corbin. “I’m proud of them. This Hempstead school will go down in history as the first school to officially honor our new president, the first Afro-American to ever take office.”
