Mid Island Collision Answers the Call to Help the Hungry
County Legislator Corbin and Councilwoman Jackson Applaud Owner’s Philanthropy

Nassau County Legislator Roger Corbin and Huntington Town Councilwoman Glenda Jackson made a special trip to Mid Island Collision today, not because they needed their car repaired but because they wanted to commend a business and a person for trying to fix declining donations to food pantries. In this giving time of year, Robert Jesberger, the owner of Mid Island Collision in Rockville Centre, once again answered the call to help our less fortunate neighbors. He is purchasing almost $5,000 worth of food for three food pantries and, as he did last year, Mr. Jesberger will also be providing 2,000 turkeys to local families for Thanksgiving dinner with the assistance of Waldbaum’s Supermarkets.

Legislator Corbin said, “During this historic and difficult time in our country, it is nice to know that people helping people is still a way of life. Mid Island has shown us a pathway of giving and caring to follow; each step in this journey brings us closer to each other.”

Mr. Jesberger has plans to repeat Mid Island Collision’s commitment to the Wounded Warrior Project; a program raises awareness and enlists the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women for the December holidays. “The more I try to pay back, my God keeps giving me more,” said Mr. Jesberger.
Town Councilwoman Glenda Jackson is coordinating the donation to three food pantries: Community Food Council and Helping Hand Rescue Mission located in Huntington Station and Ecumenical Lay Council at First Presbyterian Church in Northport.
