Sweet Sounds Fill Legislative Chambers

Legislator Corbin Honors Best Small Choir Winners of National Competition

Nassau County Legislator Roger Corbin (D-Westbury) brought sweet sounds to the county’s legislative chambers last week by inviting the LC Performing Arts of Westbury group to receive accolades for their winning harmony. The eleven member group, under the direction of Lynette Carr-Hicks, a teacher at Uniondale High School, was named the winner of “How Sweet the Sound” the Verizon Wireless Experience national competition for choirs. LC Performing Arts was named 2008 Best Small Choir and received a $10,000 award. Following an uplifting performance, Legislator Corbin presented the choir with a citation on behalf of the County Legislature.
