Legislator Corbin Thanks Dreyer For His Commitment to the Physically Challenged

Nassau County Legislator Roger Corbin (D-Westbury) thanked Don Dreyer, the executive director of the Nassau County Office for the Physically Challenged who is retiring. He presented Dreyer with a county citation at a recent session of the legislature.

Dreyer has committed 32 years of his life to advocating for people with disabilities and their families. Although he has suffered from brittle bone disease since birth and remains in a wheelchair, Dreyer affected policy changes in healthcare, government and business that will safeguard the rights of physically challenged individuals for generations to come.

“Don Dreyer is good people, and a cut above the rest when it comes to helping the physically challenged,” Legislator Corbin said. “Being physically challenged himself, he could understand what changes were needed and he always worked relentlessly to make sure those changes happened. I’ve always admired Don and I’m sorry to see him retire but I do wish him much happiness.”
