Legislator Scannell Holds "How to Grieve Your Assessment" Workshops in Rockville Centre and Baldwin

Nassau County Legislator Joseph Scannell (D-Baldwin) held a series of tax savings workshops designed to assist constituents in challenging the assessed value of their property. At his request, representatives from the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission attended the workshops to provide further information.

Taxpayers attending the workshop held at the Rockville Centre Public Library and the Bladwin Public Library received valuable information regarding the method used in assessing property, how to compute one’s own property taxes, available tax exemptions as well as a description of the Department of Assessments functions. All attendees were provided with an assessment grievance packet and were given help in filling them out.
