Legislator Scannell Hosts Megan's Law Seminar

Nassau County Legislator Joe Scannell (D-Baldwin) hosted a meeting at the Baldwin Library to provide information regarding internet safety to protect children who are often victims of online predators. District Attorney Kathleen Rice, an invited speaker, shared tips on how to recognize a dangerous situation and how to be proactive to ensure that children do not become victims.

“I was happy to provide this seminar that offered so many tips on how to safeguard our children,” Legislator Scannell said. “As technology moves forward it is easier for predators find their victims if parents and caregivers are not aware and vigilant in ensuring that children are safe.”
