Legislator Toback Hosts Security Meeting For Upcoming Jewish Holidays

Nassau County Legislator Jeff Toback (D-Oceanside) hosted a security meeting attended by rabbis and executive directors from area temples in the Five Towns this week. The meeting, held at Young Israel of Woodmere, was attended by Inspector John Capece, Commanding Officer of the 4th Precinct along with Detective Sergeant Gary Shapiro, who made presentations on security issues and ways to be proactive to safeguard congregates and places of worship. Also speaking, were NCPD Commissioner Lawrence Mulvey who stressed that the county is continuing its zero tolerance policy for hate crimes, and Mr. Dan Looney, Deputy Chief for County Court and Major Offense Bureau who addressed the prosecution of hate crimes. Lt. Danny Gluck, Commanding Officer of the NCPD Auxiliary Five Towns unit was also in attendance.
