Legislator Bosworth Honors Juleigh Chin & Mariann Giliberto

Nassau County Legislator Judi Bosworth (D-Great Neck) is pictured with Juleigh Chin (to her right) and Mariann Giliberto (at her left), Nassau County Legislature’s 2011 Trailblazers of the New Millennium. The two honorees were joined by their family and friends at the Legislature when Ms. Chin and Ms. Giliberto received their well-deserved recognition.

When a rash of burglaries occurred in Manhasset Hills this past year, Mariann Giliberto and Juleigh Chin jumped into action. They reached out to Legislator Judi Bosworth and other local elected officials as well as the Nassau County Police Department in striving to enhance communication within their community; with the help of the Third Precinct and other local representatives, they have done so through the re-established Herricks Community Coalition.
Juleigh Chin is passionate about family, school and community. She is completely devoted to her multiple roles within varying not-for-profit organizations including the Town of North Hempstead Steering Committee, Herricks Council of PTAs, Cub Scout Pack 202 and the Herricks Korean Community organization. Mariann Giliberto loves her Herricks community and has been an active member of the PTA for 13 years. Mariann, like Juleigh, feels an open line of communication within the community is imperative. She is one of the pioneering members of the Town of North Hempstead Community Steering Committee. Juleigh and her group were affectionately dubbed by the media as the “Desperate Housewives of Manhasset Hills” for taking the initiative to promote safety and awareness within the community.
Legislator Bosworth stated, “Woman like Juleigh and Mariann are the hope for the future of Nassau County. They are caring, involved advocates who understand the importance of looking out for not only their families, but for their friends and neighbors as well.”
