Legislator Bosworth Assists in Hoisting the Flag at 62nd Anniversary of India's Independence Day

Nassau County Legislator Judi Bosworth (D-Great Neck) was invited to assist in the Flag Hoisting Ceremony at the Indo-American Senior Citizen Center of New York at Vasinav Temple at the 62nd Anniversary of India’s Independence Day.

“I was so honored to be included in the Flag Hoisting Ceremony and delighted by the children’s presentations,” Legislator Bosworth said. “How important it is for them to understand the struggle for independence India faced 62 years ago and for them to learn about and participate in time honored traditions. Seeing the Indian flag stand proudly next to the American flag was a confirmation of the importance of adopting the traditions of a new country while valuing and practicing the tradition of one’s country of origin.”
