Legislator Bosworth Hosts Internship Program
This summer, Legislator Judi Bosworth (D-Great Neck) hosted an internship program for five young adults. Three college students participated: Jessica Rush, a Great Neck resident attending Dartmouth College, Allison Liu, from Manhasset attending Duke University, and Sierra Bush, also of Manhasset attending the University of Delaware. In addition, Stacie Friedman from Great Neck South High School and Parth Patel from Herricks High School interned in the Legislator’s office.
Legislator Bosworth said,” Our interns this summer were outstanding. Their enthusiasm, commitment and work ethic reflected the ideals of good government. They are our future leaders and we can be assured that our future is in good hands.”
All interns entered the program eager to learn more about the world of government and law, and all are leaving having benefited significantly from the experience. Whether attending full legislature sessions and hearings, or helping the Legislator provide constituent services to the community, interns were able to get a real sense of the duties of a Nassau County Legislator.
During their time in Legislator Bosworth’s office, the interns assisted in day to day office functions including drafting letters to constituents, writing press releases, organizing press clippings and photos, and researching a variety of local and countywide issues. They saw firsthand the importance of being responsive to constituents and to providing help in a caring and thoughtful way. It was a unique opportunity and was an exciting, enjoyable experience for all involved.
