Legislator Bosworth Meets with COPAY Before Legislative Session
Leg. Judi Bosworth (D-Great Neck) met with COPAY CEO Maria Elisa Cuadra and Clinical Director Fergus Casey, along with Amanda, Marisa, John, Erica and Jenni, some of the bi-lingual teens who volunteer as tutors and mentors at COPAY. Ms. Cuadra spoke eloquently during Public Comment on April 18th about the necessity of continued Nassau County funding for the programs provided by COPAY. Leg. Bosworth has been a staunch advocate for sustaining the important work of COPAY and other nonprofit organizations which have received County Youth Board funding. The Legislator's advocacy has highlighted the need to preserve equitable funding in all Legislative Districts and to utilize the revenues from Red Light Camera fines for the purposes designated by the legislature, which includes Youth Board funding.
