Legislator Wink Helps To Keep Children Safe Hosting Free Car Seat Safety Check

Nassau County Legislator Wayne Wink (D-Roslyn) hosted a free car seat safety check at the Albertson Fire House. Nassau County Traffic Safety Board’s educator Chris Mistron conducted the check sharing his expertise during the 15-minute inspections. Residents were given information regarding the proper procedures to follow when installing car and booster seats.

“Keeping children is safe is one of my top priorities,” Legislator Wink said. “I find it incredible that nine out of ten car seats are installed improperly. It’s definitely an indicator that people are unsure of how to secure the devices that were created to ensure children’s safety. I’m grateful that Mr. Mistron shared his expertise on how to install car and booster seats with parents and caregivers. The 15-minute inspection could save a child’s life.”
