Wink Announces Road Rehabilitation Plans, Other Improvements in 2007 Capital Budget
Nassau County Legislator Wayne Wink (D-Roslyn) announced several major infrastructure improvements for the 11th District as part of the $202 million capital improvement plan for 2007. Projects will include infrastructure improvements and several roadway rehabilitations.
“By investing money in things that will improve the community, we are investing in our future,” Wink said.“We cannot allow the infrastructure of this County to deteriorate.Capital improvements are imperative to the quality of life our residents enjoy.”
Warner Avenue at Lincoln Avenue will see significant improvements, including the installation of new pavement and an improved alignment through the LIRR tracks.
Also included in the plan are improvements to Stannards Brook Park where a children’s play area, lights and benches would be restored, rehabilitation of the Fine Arts Museum and the design and construction of a modern extension to the building, and the rehabilitation of the Sands Point Park Seawall.
“I am pleased that funding was secured for many projects that still need to be completed,” Altmann said.“Completing these projects will mean a smoother commute for drivers and a safer infrastructure for everyone.”
