Wink Announces Agreement to Provide Seven New Buses to Town of North Hempstead

Nassau County Legislator Wayne Wink (D-Roslyn) announced a recently approved inter-municipal agreement between Nassau County and the Town of North Hempstead that will provide the township with seven new buses for its Community Bus Service, which provides transportation services for seniors and other programs.

Nassau County aided the Town because it is a recognized Designated Recipient for Federal Transit Administration grants, a status the Town does not have. The County will receive 10 percent of the $885,534 to offset administrative expenses.

“This is what happens when governments work together for the common good of its residents,” Wink said. “This agreement benefits the County, the Town of North Hempstead, and the people who will be able to enjoy the highest level of service.”
